【概要】

本研究グループでは、ニッケルとリンを合金化した合金ナノ粒子を無機物であるハイドロタルサイトに担持した触媒が、温和な条件下でグルコースを高選択的にソルビトールへと還元できることを見出し、世界で初めて、常温(25℃)あるいは常圧水素下(1 気圧)において実施することに成功しました。また、開発した触媒は実用的な観点から重要である高濃度のグルコース溶液(50 wt%)にも適用できます。さらに、反応液からのろ過により簡単に分離ができ、回収した触媒を再びグルコースの還元反応に用いても触媒の活性低下は観られず、繰り返し使用することができます。
